What is the Gathering?
The Gathering for Life on Earth (a.k.a the Gathering, a.k.a. GFLOE) is a co-created Pagan spiritual retreat for all ages, hosted each year by the Greater Vancouver Pagan community.
The purpose of this weekend event is to build community, to foster religious discussion, and to celebrate life on the Pagan path. We pride ourselves on welcoming and being inclusive of all paths whether you’re an Animist, Ceremonialist, Druid, Heathen, Shaman, Thelemite, Witch, or other. The Gathering is intended by its organizers to be a meeting place where Pagans can be exposed to new ideas, be spiritually challenged, grow, meet new people, and above all — have fun!
Rituals, workshops, and other happenings are offered by our participants. It doesn’t matter whether your name is well-known or obscure, whether you’re a first-time presenter or a practiced ritualist. ALL are welcome to take a leading role.
Governance & Membership
The Gathering for Life on Earth is a registered member-funded not-for-profit society run by a board of volunteers who are elected each year at an annual general meeting (AGM) which takes place during the event. The AGM is also an opportunity for voting members to share their thoughts and ideas for the future of the event, and it is when we choose the theme for the following year.
By attending The Gathering, you become a voting member of the Gathering for Life on Earth Society and can help determine the future of the event. All voting members are eligible to run for the Board of Directors. This event belongs not to the Organizers, but to everyone who attends.
The Gathering does not make money, but exists solely for the benefit of the community. It is completely run by unpaid volunteers who work hard to organize a new festival each year.
